What they say about us

When we were looking to bring mum from Melbourne to Geelong, luckily we were recommended to consider Bella Chara.  It is not an easy decision to move out of the family home and we know that mum accepted it with our best interests at heart.  What we didn’t appreciate until after she made the move, was how important it is to be among your peers and the social connection that this brings.  Some six or so years later she continues to be very happy and clearly feels safe and secure.  It is our absolute pleasure to see her continuing to enjoy life.   We feel fortunate to have found our way into the MACS community.

Thank you and thanks to Joy and the staff for making me feel so welcome last week. I was made to feel welcome by everyone.

I was so impressed by the centre – it was light, and warm. The best place of its kind I have visited.
Great to meet characters like Jordan too – and to hear of the marvellous work they have done.

To all the wonderful staff at the multicultural centre, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful care given to my husband whilst I have been away ill. I felt very comfortable leaving his extra care in your loving and caring hands while I have been recovering. Once again, my heartfelt thanks to you all.

Dear Grazyna, Thank you so much for giving my class the opportunity to visit Borrela House to share their bread with your residents. It was a wonderful experience and we did enjoy the warm welcome and friendly interactions. I was so impressed by the lovely homely atmosphere and the obvious pride and joy that people have in being part of your community.

Dear MACS staff, Rosie, Michael and I would like to thank you all for caring for our dear mother, Barbara, over the last three years. Mum often use to say that the staff were ‘always kind and friendly’ and we certainly appreciate the way you looked after her. Many thanks.

You may not have wings or a halo….but you are all angels to me. Thank you very much to everyone who helped look after my mother Bola. Thank you for your kindness, it was really appreciated.

Dear Joy and staff, Many thanks for the past 6 years of caring for Guiseppina. You and your staff went beyond duty to care for her and for that we are most grateful. She did love her room and also the staff in her funny sort of way. Thanks for everything.

Why do I like being a volunteer?

The pleasure of seeing the ladies create and enjoy the social aspect of the craft group, also raising monies from sales at the fortnightly stall and seeing it go to purchasing extras for their use. Most of all, watching the effort some of the ladies have to put in to achieve really inspires me. I thoroughly enjoy my time spent preparing and at our group.

Maria, MACS’ Volunteer

Dear Joy and all staff members, On behalf of our family we would like to thank everyone for their care, love, support and friendship to our mother Angelina over the past eight years. Mum enjoyed her stay with you and embraced her life with all the residents, past and present, appreciating all the staff’s help towards her. May you all continue your good work. Many thanks again.
