COVID-19 UPDATE 9 September 2021
Advice from the Victorian Government today 9 September indicates there will be some easing of restrictions in regional Victoria as of midnight tonight. Sadly, visitors will still not be allowed into aged care facilities, with the exception of end of life care, however we will resume our pod bookings for visits to residents from Monday 13 September 2021. We do strongly encourage you to check Government websites for exposure sites on a daily basis and to follow Government directives.
Please contact the Director of Care or her Deputy, Cheryl Conder on 5279 6800 if you would like to discuss the need for an exceptional visit.
Time table for Pod visits from Monday is as follows between 10.00am–11:30am and 1.00pm-3.00pm
Monday 13 September Borrela House & Gerda’s House
Tuesday 14 September Mary Costa House
Wednesday 15 September Annie O’Malley House
Thursday 16 September Borrela House & Gerda’s House
Friday 17 September Mary Costa House
Saturday 18 September Annie O’Malley House
Sunday 19 September Borrela House & Gerda’s House
Monday 20 September Mary Costa House
Tuesday 21 September Annie O’Malley House
Wednesday 22 September Borrela House & Gerda’s House
Please note that as a condition of entry, and as stipulated by the Government, Photo ID (such as a Driver’s Licence) will need to be shown with evidence of residence in regional Australia – visitors from Melbourne will not be permitted into MACS unless they hold a carer’s exemption certificate.
Pod Visit appointments are taken by Reception on 5279 6800 between 9.00 am & 4.00 pm Monday to Friday. Same day bookings are not available. Please call the day before you plan to visit if not earlier to give you the best chance to get your preferred date and time.
Please also note that residents are permitted to go out with family members, however we would ask that the COVID checksheet is completed prior to departing MACS (with gate security staff), that residents are not taken to family homes, and COVID safe practices maintained in line with the Government directives.
Parcels can be dropped off with security at the gate. They will be wiped down and delivered to residents on the same day.
If you would like to arrange a video or telephone call with your loved one, please contact Johanna Vanwetten by calling reception on 5279 6800 who will make contact with you to arrange this.
All visitors (pod and exceptional) will still need to register as they enter the facility and declare that they:
• have not been in contact with a confirmed case and/or been to any exposure sites https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/case-locations-and-outbreaks-covid-19 and
• have not been required to isolate or quarantine whilst waiting for results of a COVID test.
• Have no symptoms of COVID
Thank you to all our family members who responded to last week’s survey. Overall, we had a 55% response rate, with 88% of respondents indicating that they would agree with a ‘no jab, no visit’ policy. We will continue working on a policy around entry to MACS, ensuring that we keep our residents as safe as possible.
Take care everyone, and please continue to wash those hands x 2 and keep on social distancing!!
