COVID -19 UPDATE 31 MAY 2021
Further to the outbreak in the northern suburbs, we wish to advise that one of our staff members, who worked in Annie O’Malley House, attended a supermarket in Point Cook which has been identified as a Tier 1 exposure site. Whilst this is a low-risk event for MACS, we felt it was important that we communicated this to you.
Following Government protocol, the staff member is awaiting results from a COVID test and will isolate for 14 days. As a further precaution, all staff will be offered to have asymptomatic COVID tests. No staff, including the staff member who attended the supermarket are feeling unwell. At this stage, there is no reason to conduct resident COVID testing.
As part of our risk management plan, initially this morning, Annie O’Malley House residents were requested to stay in their room, whilst we reviewed the situation, however as from 10am there is no restriction of resident movement. All staff will remain in their designated areas wherever possible and are wearing face masks and shields/goggles.
Residents have been requested to remain in their own House and if going out into the Piazza, distance themselves from other Residents from different Houses.
Thank you for your support in keeping our residents safe. Should anything change over the next few days, we will keep you updated.
Take care everyone, and please continue to wash those hands x 2 and keep on social distancing!!
