COVID-19 update 3 June 2021

In CEO News, COVID-19

Dear friends and families

As you will no doubt be aware, restrictions have been eased for Regional Victoria from midnight tonight. However, advice from the Victorian State Government indicates that the following visitor restrictions still apply to aged care facilities:

  • Visitors permitted into aged care or other care facility setting for end-of-life reasons and permitted purposes only (exceptional visits can be granted at the discretion of the Director of Care who can be contacted on 5279 6800)
  • Non-essential contractors are restricted from entry

We have therefore made a decision that from Monday the 7th of June, the pod will be open from 10.00 am with the last visit scheduled for 3.30 pm, seven days a week.  We request that there be no more than 2 visitors at a time and the visit last for 20 minutes only.  Visitors must take responsibility for disinfecting their side of the pod as they conclude their visit.  Cleaning supplies will be provided.  You can make a booking for the pod by calling Heather De Bakker on 5279 6800.  If Heather is not available, a message will be taken and she will return your call. There will be 12 slots available each day on the ½ hour, seven days a week.

To assist in coordinating pod visits, appointments will be scheduled by house on a rolling basis as follows:

Monday 7 June           Annie O’Malley House

Tuesday 8 June          Borrela House & Gerda’s House

Wednesday 9 June     Mary Costa House

Thursday 10 June       Annie O’Malley House

Friday 11 June            Borrela House & Gerda’s House

Saturday 12 June       Mary Costa House

Sunday 13 June          Annie O’Malley House

Monday 14 June         Borrela House & Gerda’s House

If you would like to arrange a video or telephone call with your loved one, please contact Johanna Vanwetten, by calling reception on 5279 6800, who will make contact with you to arrange this.

We confirm that there are no cases of COVID-19 in the City of Greater Geelong at this time and the staff member who visited the Tier 1 site has returned a negative result, however is still isolating for 14 days and will be tested further before returning to work.

Thank you for your support in keeping our residents safe. Should anything change over the next few days, we will keep you updated in line with Government announcements. However you will receive a further communication from us next Thursday 10 June.

Take care everyone, and please continue to wash those hands x 2 and keep on social distancing!!

Kind regards

Joy Leggo
