COVID-19 update 15 July 2021

Dear friends

I can confirm that there are no positive COVID cases at MACS, however, we are most concerned about the escalation of COVID cases within Victoria and especially in the Geelong area on top of the increasing number of cases in New South Wales.
The safety of our residents, staff and community are paramount. As such, a decision has been made by the Leadership Team that from 9am tomorrow, Friday 16 July, visitors will not be permitted into MACS. This precautionary measure will be reviewed on Monday 19 July and you will be provided with a further update. This decision has not been taken lightly but is in response to advice that members of our community have visited various Tier 2 exposure sites. Exceptional circumstance visits continue and must be authorised by the Registered Nurse in charge.

We would encourage everyone to regularly monitor the exposure sites via the link below and to follow all Government directives:
https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/exposure-sites

Given that people are still trying to have their COVID vaccinations undertaken and that there is a delay as a result for them to have their flu vax, we have extended the deadline for showing proof of vaccination to Friday the 13th of August. Please note that after this time, you will not be allowed to access the facility without having provided proof of flu vaccination without a valid reason.
We will provide you with any updates as soon as we have further information for you.
Take care everyone, and please continue to wash those hands x 2 and keep on social distancing!!

Kind Regards

Joy Leggo
Chief Executive Officer
