COVID-19 update 15 February 2021

Dear friends,

Just a quick update on Friday’s notification of the snap lockdown implemented by the State Government.  Our Houses remain closed as does our Pod, and we were advised by the Department of Health yesterday that aged care workers are required to commence wearing face shields/eye protection again.

We have still had some people seeking access to MACS facilities and remind everyone again, that there are only four reasons for you to leave home:

  • Shopping for necessary goods and services (one person per household, once per day, a support person can accompany if required)
  • Caregiving or compassionate reasons (exceptional visits can be granted at the discretion of the RN in Charge who can be contacted on 5279 6800)
  • Essential work or permitted education
  • Exercise (can leave for two hours of exercise)

For your information we have also supplied a link that shows you the current exposure sites for your reference.  This site is constantly being updated and we strongly suggest that you remain aware of possible exposure sites even when the lockdown is lifted.

Like you, we are all hoping that Thursday will see us return to “COVID normal” operations again, with visitors being allowed to enter our facilities.  In the event that aged care may have some further restrictions placed on it we have started planning what this may look like.

A further communication will be sent to you on Wednesday when we are clearer what the government has decided to do.

Take care everyone, especially over the next 3 days, and please continue to wash those hands x 2, and keep on social distancing!!

Kind regards

Joy Leggo
