COVID-19 update 12 February 2021

MACS,  like all other aged care facilities in Victoria is in a strict 5day lockdown from midnight 12 February which means no visitors will be allowed into any of our facilities.

We will review the situation on Monday and communicate with you again as more information comes to hand. Our understanding at this stage is that we cannot even re-introduce our pod visits during this time as no one should be out and about but for the four essential reasons:
• Shopping for necessary goods and services (one person per household, once per day, a support person can accompany if required)
• Caregiving or compassionate reasons (exceptional visits can be granted at the discretion of the RN in Charge who can be contacted on 5279 6800)
• Essential work or permitted education
• Exercise (can leave for two hours of exercise)

As we all continue to hear and deal with COVID on a regular basis, we remain as always vigilant to changes that are occurring and we are now particularly monitoring exposure sites in the Melbourne metropolitan area as the Holiday Inn cluster grows.

Take care everyone, especially over the next 5 days, and please continue to wash those hands x 2, keep on social distancing!!

Kind regards,

Joy Leggo
Chief Executive Officer
