COVID-19 update 11 January 2022

Dear friends

Current cases in Greater Geelong & Surfcoast as at 11/01-1,535

Some good news to start with. Our current status is:

  • Four positive residents in Mary Costa House (our day 9 resident is now negative but will remain in isolation until advice is received from the Public Health Unit. One resident is at day 8 and three at day 5). Our four positive residents have had mild symptoms only.
  • Four positive staff members who remain furloughed at home – all are well and will be back at work soon.

All our unaffected Mary Costa House residents have been RAT tested today and all have tested negative. The PHU have advised that whilst this is encouraging, until a clear result is provided on the re-test again on the 13th of January current restrictions will remain in place in Mary Costa House.

In light of the above, all residents in Annie O’Malley, Gerda’s & Borrela House will be retested tonight and if all residents return negative results, the houses will come out of isolation from 10am tomorrow morning. This will mean that residents will be able to move around their houses and have meals in their dining rooms.

Just a reminder that no visitors are permitted on site. We will be reviewing visiting restrictions tomorrow and will provide you with more information on how pod visits will work and when they will commence.

Please continue to monitor your emails or this site for further updates.

Kind Regards

Joy Leggo
