COVID-19 update 1 January 2021
On behalf of MACS, I hope you enjoyed New Year’s Eve and very best wishes for 2021.
You will be aware that there has been an escalation in the number of COVID-19 cases in NSW and Victoria. The border between NSW and Victoria is now closed.
There are no known COVID infection cases in the Geelong area. However, the Government has made the following changes in relation to visitation to aged care facilities:
- One visitor at any one time, once per day for a maximum two (2) hours.
- You are still able to book pod visits from Tuesday 5 January. Please call reception for these bookings on (03) 5279 6800.
- Any person from NSW since Christmas day will not be permitted entry to MACS.
- Any person from Melbourne (Mentone, Mitcham and Hallam) will not be permitted entry to MACS.
We should all be mindful that things can change rapidly and we will act swiftly in response to Government directive.
IMPORTANTLY, TO ENSURE EVERYONE’S SAFETY, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT MACS IF YOU OR A CLOSE CONTACT HAS BEEN IN NSW SINCE CHRISTMAS DAY OR FROM THE MELBOURNE AREAS OF MENTONE, MITCHAM OR HALLAM.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO ANY OF THE ABOVE AREAS AND ARE CONSIDERING VISITING MACS, PLEASE CALL LUBA PRYSLAK (DIRECTOR OF CARE) ON 0412 463 680 FOR FURTHER CLARIFICATION.
The next scheduled communication will be on Thursday 28th Jan unless the situation in Victoria deteriorates and impacts on the greater Geelong area.
Thank you for supporting the work we do, acknowledging the way we care and how we go about our work, it means a lot to us to have your confidence, trust and support.
Take care everyone and please continue to wash those hands x 2, keep on social distancing and make sure you wear your mask!!
